Project: New Information Centre
Location: St Petersburg, Russia
Brief: 1,200 sq.m single storey addition and interior to existing factory building, for public information centre and offices.
Status: on-site
This project is for the refurbishment and addition to an existing industrial building in St Petersburg. The new information centre comprises a series of classrooms, self-access computer zone, library facilities, video conference, and back office spaces. The design is based on the general philosophy of openness and direct relation to the existing industrial building. In this respect a large volume is created, with glazed classrooms running down one side of the space and other functions overlapping and flowing within the open plan.
