Pool House, Surrey

The brief was to provide an outdoor pool, spa and recreation space where the client could enjoy views over the surrounding landscape. The building was to be a new addition to an existing house and outbuildings that sit on a 14 hectare site south in the surrey countryside. Its L shaped form encloses the outdoor pool from the northern, road side. The building’s closed back elevation to the road contrasts with the open south west facade that provides views over garden area and takes advantage of southern light. Natural materials such as stone and timber were selected in order that the building sits quietly in the surrounding countryside.
