Larch House

Larch House is a sustainable, minimalist home built for harsh northern climates. Its spiral layout features a protective outer facade clad with larch planks. The inner facade is mostly glass, framing a private, south-facing courtyard that maximizes winter sun while a timber canopy blocks summer heat.
The eastern wing houses living quarters, while the western wing contains fitness and pool facilities. A red-glazed brick arch marks the entrance, leading to light-filled rooms.

Larch House is featured in the book, The Sustainable Home, by Cathy Strongman – Merrell 2008.
